Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified Employee Relations Specialist to join our Human Resources team. If you are detail oriented and passionate about all things Human Resources, then this is the place for you. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of labor and employment laws and regulations, as well as the ability to assess, analyze, and evaluate HR compliance related issues.
What you’ll do:
- Ensure labor and employee relations programs meet applicable federal, state and local regulatory requirements, including, without limitation, wage/hour, leaves of absence, discrimination and other related laws
- Monitor legislative updates to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and advise whether specific Company policies, guidelines and/or practices need to be modified
- Create communications to human resources partners and operational leadership regarding updates to applicable regulations in their affected areas
- Stay current on trends and/or changes in employee relations policies, processes and best practices and provide objective options to the organization to improve employee relations outcomes
- Collaborate with applicable HR Centers of Excellence, including Safety, Labor Relations, Talent Acquisition, Compensation/Benefits, HR Shared Services and HR Business Partners, Legal and Operational Leaders to design action plans where appropriate
- Coordinate with internal and external legal counsel and applicable HR departments to gather and organize data and other information necessary for employment and labor related matters
- Maintain employee policies and templates for the HR Department and legally required posters/notices
- Proactively document, maintain, and organize area practices and protocols related to HR policy administration and standards
- Maintain and update monthly employee and labor relations activity reports, including demands, grievances, arbitrations and employment related legal proceedings
- Gather and analyze employee relations metrics and identify trends to help develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs and policies

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, including highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Education and Experience:
- Human resources, business administration or related field degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an HR/Employee Relations related position
- Experience using HRIS software (Workday is desired), databases and web-based systems
- Knowledge of various employment laws and regulations, including wage/hour, FMLA, ADA, EEO, NLRA and other applicable laws
- Experience in a fast-paced customer service environment is highly desired
