The Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) Therapist coordinates services and planning for children who are referred through social service, probation or mental health departments and are in the process of stepping down from institutional into family or family-like settings. Services will be provided almost exclusively in the community in families’ homes, group homes, foster homes, schools, etc. The primary role is to ensure that all parties are working together toward stability for the child and family. Clinicians engage clients in meaningful and authentic relationships while providing a safe, predictable, and positive environment that aligns with our clients’ values and cultures.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
A multi-disciplinary team supporting children who are at risk for psychiatric hospitalization or residential treatment. Our program provides children and families with services that promote stability and improved success at home and in the community. TBS is a short term (8 to 10 month) behaviorally focused intervention. We believe a key factor in sustaining behavioral change is including families and caregivers in every aspect of treatment. Services are based in community locations (home, school) in order to truly meet the youth and family where they are. TBS supports youth up until the age of 20, and typically serves youth who are 10 to 15 years old. Working at TBS provides the opportunity to work independently and learn from a seasoned team who are creative, joyful, and eager to support each other as well as the clients and families we serve.
