This position will supervise all daily operational processes and resources (employee and supply) using a lean philosophy to ensure efficiency, consistent improvement and lean financial operation. Responsible for the supervision and direction of registration, insurance verification, data collection and front-end processing of cash collection. Acts as a patient advocate for patient concerns. Monitors waiting times for patients, communicating consistently to them. Supports and resolves physicians' operational needs while in session.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist the administration in the provision of the Operations Manager and support to the department in alignment with the mission of the department and that of medical center.
- Monitor the registration process of clerical associates.
- Ensure that staff is collecting all necessary authorizations and referrals. Administer departmental deferral policy.
- Responsible for daily cash collections and ensuring that payments are collected at point of service, secured, reconciled, posted and deposited in a timely manner.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the department to resolve employee conflict and ensure that customer satisfaction is kept.
- Attend meetings and join teams, which will benefit the staff, department and customers.
- Identify systemic and/or recurrent problems and make recommendations on proposed resolution to Operations Manager.
- Staffing Schedule Coordination
- Monitor and supervise staff. Enhance staff development, productivity and training.
- Responsible for recruiting, terminating, performance evaluations and issuing disciplinary notice to associates when appropriate.
- Maintain proper inventory of medical and office supplies.
- Work closely with support staff to expedite and improve patient flow.
Based on the department needs this position may require travelling to other sites, it may also require flexibility with start and end times.
