Job Summary
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The job of Accounting Technician is done for the purpose(s) of maintaining fiscal/financial systems; ensuring that revenues are generated, expenses are within budget limits and overall fiscal policies, practices and/or regulations are followed; and maintaining accurate account balances. Under direction, to perform and supervise technical sub-professional accounting work and fiscal clerical work in connection with keeping or checking financial, statistical, or fiscal records; and to do other related work as required.
Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Job related experience within specialized field is required. Three years of responsible experience in financial, statistical, or fiscal record keeping work.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Targeted job related education that meets organization's prerequisite requirements. Completion of at least one year (24 semester/36 quarter hours of course work) of approved college level accounting or business training including principles of accounting. One year of additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education. Approved college level accounting or business training including principles of accounting, beyond required education, may be substituted for experience on a year-to-year basis to a maximum of two years.
REQUIRED TESTING:
