The Barberton City School District is looking for a:
Bus Mechanic
STARTING DATE: TBD
REPORTS TO: Superintendent/Designee
SALARY: Minimum Start - $22.63
BENEFITS: Hospitalization, dental, voluntary vision, prescription, and term life insurance; three (3) weeks of paid vacation; up to three (3) approved personal days per year; sick leave.
WORKWEEK/YEAR: 260 days per year per Board approved calendar; flexible hours and days.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent general education degree (GED).
Preferred Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical university.
Ability to work with the transportation department and public in an appropriate way.
Shall have a thorough knowledge concerning the care, operation, maintenance and preventative maintenance of school transportation fleet.
Ability to make clear and comprehensive oral and written reports.
State of Ohio Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement or the ability to obtain within one year of hire.
Minimum preferred five (5) years maintenance work experience.
Shall have a thorough knowledge of State Department of Education Basic School Bus Driver Education Program.
Must have excellent driving record and the ability to be insured by the district’s fleet insurance provider.
Such other qualities and qualifications that the Superintendent/Designee deems reasonably appropriate.
