The Opportunity

Abt’s Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) portfolio team is seeking a highly-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual who can quickly learn and understand the portfolio’s operational priorities and support Abt’s ENR Portfolio Program Director with day-to-day management and operations of the portfolio. The person will help to drive process improvements and operational efficiency and support consistent improvements in how we scale our processes.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate across geographically dispersed teams to retrieve, analyze, and summarize project and financial data to inform operating decisions and improve effectiveness.

• Research and evaluate information to create clear and concise summary memos, tables/graphs, and presentations.

• Translate data findings into actionable recommendations, insights, and continuous improvement recommendations to management.

• Collaborate with business units to gain in-depth understanding of processes, challenges, and strategies to explain issues and recommend solutions.

• Utilize analytical tools and techniques to identify emerging trends and patterns, enabling proactive interventions to drive operational improvements.

• Support the generation and distribution of reports to enable monitoring and tracking of the portfolio’s business goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Prepare key project and financial data to enable effective and efficient project health reviews. Capture action items identified during project health reviews and track their completion status.

• Maintain project health review schedule, track changes to risk, and track addition and removal of projects to schedule.

• Support new project readiness and mobilization activities, including scheduling collaborative meetings and tracking action items through completion.

• Lead the preparation of PowerPoint presentations for key management meetings, including coordinating with portfolio leadership, program managers, and project directors.

• Assist with troubleshooting operational bottlenecks as they arise, including actions related to contracts, subcontracts, finances, staffing, etc.

• Support other programmatic and administrative tasks/duties as needed, including organizing external and internal meetings, note-taking, dissemination of information for meetings, organizing documents and files, etc.

What We Value

• Bachelor’s Degree + 2 years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree + 0 years of relevant experience.

• Demonstrate strong self-organization and time management skills, with considerable emphasis on self-initiation, adaptability, decisiveness, and follow through on a broad range of support tasks.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to quickly adapt to schedule changes in a fast-paced environment.

• Attention to detail with the ability to identify, assess, and proactively respond to mitigate or correct unforeseen obstacles.

• Experience working within a highly matrixed organization.

• Highly adept in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook.

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $65,111 to $91,155 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
