Overview
THE ROLE:
As the Director of AI Strategy, you will lead our AI and analytics initiatives, driving the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to unlock business insights and enable intelligent decision-making. You will be responsible for directing a team of data scientists, analysts, and AI specialists, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver impactful results. The ideal candidate has a strong background in AI, machine learning, and analytics, with a proven track record of demonstrating data to drive business outcomes.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
• Strategy Development: Develop and implement the AI and analytics strategy aligned with the organization's goals. Find opportunities to demonstrate AI and analytics to drive innovation, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, analysts, and AI specialists. Cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Provide mentorship and support to drive the team's professional development and growth.
• Data Analysis and Insights: Be responsible for the analysis of sophisticated data sets to extract significant insights and actionable recommendations. Apply statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and AI models to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities.
• AI Model Development: Collaborate with data scientists to develop and deploy AI models that enhance business processes and decision-making. Stay abreast of the latest AI techniques and advancements to drive innovation and improve model performance.
• Data Visualization and Reporting: Create compelling visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate insights and findings to collaborators. Ensure data visualizations are intuitive, informative, and actionable.
• Partner Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business leaders, product managers, and IT teams, to understand their requirements and develop AI and analytics solutions that meet their needs. Provide guidance on data-driven decision-making and standard processes.
• Data Governance and Compliance: Ensure compliance with data governance policies and standards. Collaborate with the data governance team to establish data quality, data privacy, and data security practices. Adhere to ethical AI principles and guidelines.
• Performance Measurement and Optimization: Define key performance indicators (important metrics) to measure the effectiveness and impact of AI and analytics initiatives. Continuously supervise and optimize models and algorithms to improve accuracy and performance.
• Industry Research: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and standard processes in AI and analytics. Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance the organization's capabilities.

Qualifications
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of AI, machine learning, and statistical analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
- Experience with data visualization tools and platforms.
- Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud-based analytics platforms.
- Leadership and Team Management: Proven leadership abilities with experience leading and developing hard-working teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate optimally with partners at all levels.
- Analytical Thinking: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sophisticated data sets and derive relevant insights. Attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
- Business Acumen: Deep understanding of business processes, industry trends, and challenges. Ability to translate business objectives into AI and analytics strategies and initiatives.
- Project Management: Consistent track record to lead multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong interpersonal and planning skills.
- Adaptability and Innovation: Ability to thrive in a sophisticated and fast-paced environment. Proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ethical AI: Understanding of ethical considerations and responsible AI practices, including bias mitigation, fairness, visibility, and explain ability.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present sophisticated ideas and findings in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical collaborators.
Experience:
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in AI, machine learning, analytics, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Consistent track record of delivering successful AI and analytics projects and driving business impact.
Education:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
