The Sensory Analyst utilizes their knowledge of flavor materials and interpretive skills to determine organoleptic acceptability and makes release decisions for materials, intermediates, and finished products. This position works independently, is highly organized and works according to established work priorities.
A. Sample set up, sensory evaluation and interpretation, clean up, data entry, file and maintain retain library, report non-conformances, coordinate sensory panels, and update inspection plans.
B. Perform daily activities required in Sensory QC including work priority, on-time performance, evaluation skills and assigned and self-directed continuous process improvements Review daily supply chain management priority reports and production status 70 reports.
C. Communicate and interact with Production, Technical Flavorist in matters requiring sensory information covering materials, finished products and QC troubleshooting. Provide professional clear, concise and timely verbal and written communications to internal customers.
D. Maintain adequate inventory of Lab supplies. Coordinate, establish, revise, and maintain Sensory standards, Quality SOPs, harmonize taste rates, bases and standards with Flavor Development & Customers.
AS in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field, and a minimum of 1-year sensory evaluation experience
Experience in evaluation of flavor and or fragrance materials
No dietary restrictions that would prohibit tasting of savory, sweet, and other natural and artificial flavor chemicals
Knowledge of Quality processes, GLP, GFSI-SQF, cGMP, ISO 9001
SAP experience preferred
