EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Management Specialist in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position sits within our Hardware Engineering team and will review, archive, and maintain hardware engineering documentation and bills of material for advanced Satellite Communication Products. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.
Responsibilities:
- Review, approve, archive, and link the hardware engineering documents to SAP.
- Process electrical and mechanical CAD drawings, engineering specifications, technical manuals, factory & operations authorizations (build, ship, deviation), and other miscellaneous engineering documents.
- Enter part number information and bills of materials into SAP.
- Prepare status reports, assign and monitor document numbers, and review documents for accuracy and completeness with the objective of ensuring documents meet standards for factory production
- Maintaining files of engineering drawings, test reports, requirement specifications, and bills of material
- Archive and link any TCN or ECN (Engineering Change Notice) associated documents.
- Coordinate the product documentation interactions between engineering, manufacturing, field operations, and business groups to ensure appropriate changes are communicated effectively.
- Create or inspect all numerical BOM’s for submittal through SAP.
- Ensure adherence to Configuration Management standards and Corporate ISO procedures.
- Maintain hardware CM document templates and CM Portal website.
- Create regular status reports on all documentation archived, release pending, and allocation checks each month.
- Create and update CM procedures. Establish and enforce standards and CM best practices
Basic Requirements:
- 6 years of experience in configuration management and/or hardware Engineering-related fields.
- Must be a U.S. Person (e.g., U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, U.S. National or a protected individual under 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3)) as position requires access to U.S. export restricted materials
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with hardware engineering drawing standards, formats, and drafting practices. High School diploma required.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM field is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools Working knowledge of SAP enterprise software (read/write) or equivalent enterprise resource planning software.
- Prior Work Experience Collaborating with hardware electrical and/or mechanical engineers to develop new CM processes as needed.
- Prior work experience in hardware electronics production and/or factory environment
- Prior work experience within an Engineering Change Notice system.
- Configuration Management certifications are a plus.
