Job Summary
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the principal, the School Community Coordinator assists with carrying on the basic functioning of the school.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: E = Essential Duties The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.
1. Assists with student supervision, as necessary E
2. Coordinates noon supervision team E
3. Supports conflict management and behavior mediation E
4. Monitors hallways and outside campus areas E
5. General campus supervision E
6. Provides support and assistance to the principal including communicating with parents E
7. Provide support to various school site teams E
8. Assists with administering local and state assessments E
9. Coordinates special projects as needed including managing parent volunteers E
10. Supports positive student attendance E
11. Respond to emergency situations, and take appropriate action in accordance with established guidelines; provide basic first aid services as necessary E
12. Other duties as assigned E
ABILITY TO
1. Effectively use interpersonal skills with tact, patience and courtesy;
2. Work cooperatively with students, staff, and parents;
3. Understand, respect and be sensitive to diverse socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds;
4. Take directions and follow-through;
5. Remain calm in an emergency situation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
1. Demonstrated effective leadership experience
2. Strong oral and written communication skills
3. Organizational and follow through skills
4. Experience working successfully with diverse student populations
5. Experience coordinating and aligning student support services to meet student needs
