The Software QA Specialist for SMR is responsible for maintaining and verifying implementation and adequacy of the analysis tools subject to the SMR Quality Assurance Program. This position is independent from SMR, LLC engineering activities by reporting directly to the Manager of Quality Assurance (SMR) for Holtec International and will be dedicated to SMR activities. Specific Areas of Responsibility:
Developing, maintaining and updating Quality Assurance processes and procedures for software that is used to design and analyze the SMR-300.
Evaluating compliance to the SMR Quality Assurance Program requirements through audits and technical reviews.
Monitoring organizational processes to ensure conformance to commitments and licensing document requirements.
Assuring that appropriate Quality Assurance training and qualification activities are completed as applicable to personnel performing quality related activities.
Provide direct interface, as necessary, with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of SMR for activities related to software Quality Assurance.
Plan, organize and perform complex assignments in a team environment.
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with nuclear power plant operations or equivalent experience.
5 years of demonstrated, applicable QA experience in commercial nuclear industry.
Comprehensive knowledge of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and ASME NQA-1, including Subparts 2.7 and 2.14.
Direct experience with Nuclear Software Quality Assurance program requirements.
Demonstrated technical writing skills and effective communication skills.
Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities.
Ability to plan and organize work tasks; and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills; effective in a team environment.
Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
Optional Additional Qualifications:
> 10 years of applicable QA experience.
Familiarity with NQA-1 test control and control of measuring and test equipment.
Experience with nuclear design and analysis tools.
