THE JOB:
As a Sous Chef, you will work alongside our Executive Chef to craft exceptional menus, ensure impeccable kitchen operations, and mentor our culinary team. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen productivity including menu planning, inventory management, kitchen management, food preparation, and customer service.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
· Menu Development: Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative and seasonal menus with an eye toward maintaining food cost and control, incorporating guest feedback and culinary trends.
· Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring high standards of quality and consistency.
· Team Leadership: Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient working environment while promoting professional growth.
· Inventory and Ordering: Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and coordinate with vendors to ensure the kitchen is stocked with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
· Quality Control and Safety: Maintain rigorous standards for food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health regulations and company policies.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
· Is able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
· Is able to effectively communicate in English, in both verbal and written forms
· Has extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, recipes, and kitchen equipment, with a strong passion for food and innovation
· Has managed and mentored a kitchen team, with the ability to foster a collaborative environment
· Has excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
· Has a strong attention to detail on quality and presentation, ensuring every dish meets high standards of taste and visual appeal
