Posting Summary	Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an HR Representative for the Talent Acquisition department in University Human Resources. This position is within the onboarding team and guides new hires through a seamless and supportive transition into Rutgers, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment from day one. This role offers the opportunity to play a crucial part in shaping the employee experience, promoting engagement, and ultimately contributing to Rutgers’ reputation as one of the best large employers in America through effective onboarding practices. Among the key duties of the position are the following: Coordinates onboarding tasks with new hires including obtaining necessary documents for the new personnel file and administer Form I-9s. Coordinates pre-employment screenings including a background check, medical exam, and other screenings according to University hiring policies and processes. Maintains communication with applicants and hiring departments. Provides guidance to hiring departments and applicants regarding pre-employment screenings and onboarding policies and processes. Updates records in the Applicant Tracking System and other systems.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience	Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Preferred Qualifications	Experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, staffing, onboarding, policy consultation and advisement, training, and compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field. Experience in higher education. Experience in a labor environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities	Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment. Overall problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills. Customer focused and team oriented. Strong attention to detail.
Equipment Utilized	Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Ability to understand Applicant Tracking Systems.

Immunization Requirements

Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Prospective employees should speak with their hiring manager to determine which policies apply to the role or position for which they are applying. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
