Job Abstract

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Credit Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and commercial and industrial lending. As a Senior Commercial Credit Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, assessing creditworthiness, and making recommendations on credit limits and terms.

The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst researches and analyzes borrower financial information; prepares and presents formal written loan presentations to CCO, CEO, and Loan Committee for approval on new and existing loan transactions; conducts ongoing financial analysis and credit monitoring on transactions within Bank’s loan portfolio.

Essential Functions

1. Analyzes and articulates transaction risk, and recommends loans for approval.
2. Assesses cash flows, total project cost analysis, collateral value, absorption analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis.
3. Analyzes borrower financial statements and tax returns for companies and individuals regarding net worth and cash flow and strengths/risks of loan repayment sources.
4. Identifies and summarizes risks related to third party reports and collateral valuations.
5. Evaluates preliminary title reports and various documents affecting the Bank’s collateral lien rights.
6. Prepares the formal written credit authorization ensuring complete and accurate information, industry trends, and compliance with current legal requirements within required timeframes.
7. Maintains close, professional communication with Loan Center, lending officers, and clients to ensure the timeliness of the renewal and new loan funding process.
8. Serves as the credit analyst for multiple loan transactions at a given time at varying stages of the loan origination process.
9. Manages a portion of the Bank’s loan portfolio as the assigned account officer, involving close monitoring of the loan and completion of various portfolio management duties, while serving as the customer’s primary point of contact.
10. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of all deposit, cash management, and commercial loan products of the Bank as well as current knowledge of bank regulations and statues.
11. Supports Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) through business development efforts. Actively participates in community organizations.
12. Maintains a current knowledge of bank regulations. Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
13. Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college
• Five to ten years of experience in credit analysis within a banking/lending environment
• Knowledge of accounting, financial statement, and cash flow analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to independently prioritize tasks
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in computers with ability to use standard or specialized computer hardware and software packages, including word processing and spreadsheets in a Windows environment
