Our company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to support our highly technical engineering teams worldwide. The technical writer will be responsible for creating clear and comprehensive design and test documentation for our cloud, hybrid, and private IT systems. The candidate will possess a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and cloud technologies, enabling them to translate complex technical information into user-friendly documents. It is essential that the candidate is a US citizen and is able to obtain and maintain a US federal government Secret clearance. This position can be done remotely.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with subject matter experts to create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation for cloud and hybrid cloud solutions that include network transport, PaaS, SaaS, IaaS, virtualization / VDI, storage, application, and compute environments as well as Cybersecurity requirements.
Ensure all documentation meets US federal government standards and guidelines.
Translate testing criteria into detailed test plans for projects and provide support throughout the testing process.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cloud technologies.
Write, edit, and meticulously proofread technical documents in response to client requests and requirements, adhering to established schedules and deadlines.
Assist in the review and revision of existing documentation to maintain current and accurate information.
Develop templates and work directly with engineers and client representatives to conceptualize impactful graphics, figures, tables, and other presentation elements to optimize the impact of information and work with graphics artists to have them produced.
Maintain a library of templates and technical documents
Maintain technical documentation quality and consistency across technical documentation of similar types and across multiple projects.
Maintain configuration management over all technical documents.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or relevant field; or 5 years’ experience working in the IT and/or Cloud Computing industry as a technical writer required.
Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret clearance level is required
Proven experience as a Technical Writer in the cloud computing domain.
Familiarity with US federal government documentation standards (e.g., NIST guidelines, Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH), etc.).
Strong ability to understand and document IT infrastructure, software applications, and cloud/hybrid/private cloud-based technologies.
Strong writing and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
