We are hiring a Warehouse Supervisor (Area Manager)!
Warehouse Supervisor (Area Manager) is a member of the Operations Management team reporting to the Distribution Manager. The role is responsible for leading warehouse employees and ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets are met in a Lean environment.
What You Will Do!
- Supervise a staff of up to 5 lead hands and 40 hourly employees (Team in total)
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing unionized personnel on safe work practices to meet Safety and 5S targets
- Administers all employee related activities from Time/Attendance through guidance on policy and procedures.
- Is a role model for the team as it relates to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles
- Vacation planning, LOA approval and management for the hourly team members
- Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, recommending, and deploying actions
- Schedule and communicate with inbound or outbound Freight carriers
- Ensures product is warehoused in an organized and efficient manner.
- Ensures shipments and/or deliveries are processed in accordance with Masco Canada operating procedures.
- Oversee and prioritize the execution of shipping, warehousing, or receiving requirements
- Act as a liaison with other departments such as, but not limited to, Operations, Accounts Payable, Customer Service
- Manage/schedule manpower to execute the daily/weekly warehouse operational requirements
- Tracks and reviews daily, weekly and monthly performance metrics and manages performance of the team to meet these defined standards through the use of daily management, various Lean tools, and Process Problem Solving
- Follows Area Manager Standard Work schedule with a high level of consistency
- Participate/Lead operational improvements in all aspects of Safety, Delivery, Quality and Cost
- Participate in Lean Glass House to meet TCP targets
What You Will Bring!
- 3-5 years of warehouse related supervisor experience (experience to lead, motivate, and build effective teams)
- Proven experience in a similar role (unionized experience is an asset)
- Continuous Improvement/process development background is an asset
- Computer skills and computer aptitude
- Effective communication and collaborative skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset

Our Shifts schedule
- Afternoon: Monday-Thursday, 4 Day work week, 3 days weekend
- Day: Monday – Friday, 5 Day work week
