Job Summary:
The Product Trainer position is responsible for delivering high impact hands on, instructor-led training materials that “trains the trainers” on LG product benefits, knowledge, and advantages to ISM associates, retail sales associates, and internal LGEUS associates utilizing presentation skills, videos, competitive comparison, and principles of interactive instructional design to foster understanding of LGEUS products and brand advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Increase product knowledge and establish consistent LG Brand messaging of the ISM group that drives more “sell through” at Retail stores.
• Develop content for assigned categories that follows Product Knowledge (PK) center training guide
o Maintains subject matter expertise for assigned business areas, including job shadowing, attending team meetings, process updates, staffing and providing production support as required.
o Includes content” created to be engaging multi-media. Short (15 – 30 seconds), impactful video clips should dominate content creation.
• Create new training techniques to add/emphasize the experiential side, not just classroom
o Anytime training, vitural, mobile, interactive, etc.
o Consults with the business to determine performance gaps and generate innovative solutions.
• Conducts frequent “trains the trainer” sessions to fully enable ISM team with LG product knowledge and develop feedback systems to insure knowledge is being retained
o Designs, develops and delivers message via media that best fits the audience needs.
• Creates monthly “Newswire” for topic defined by LG ISM/Training team
• Development of props to help bring the benefits to life is essential.
• Capable of training hands on for any LG product category relative to Kitchen, Laundry, and Rest of House
• Maintains content database that is easily assessable for associates to access, as defined in PK Center guide
o Populates system training or test regions with data for use in classes, provides client updates, analyzes data and writes training summaries.
• Provides project support for training initiatives.
o Coordinates training projects from start to finish including tasks and timelines. Serves as subject matter expert for instructional designers, eLearning developers and technical writers. Reviews instructional designs, testing procedures and technology.
• Insure training sessions are properly planned out through checklist.
o Prepares for training classes: creates and updates class rosters, sends registrations, manages hardware and software set-up, completes evaluation tracking, ensures room reservations and equipment setup and orders materials.
o Engages instructional designers when significant edits are required (course redesigns). Designs and develops course content for narrowly focused topics.
• Builds team structure and increases team efficiency by contributing to internal processes and tools.
Minimum Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum 2 years of training experience in classroom setting
• Excellent organizational, planning, presentation and communications skills
• Knowledge of MS Word, Powerpoint; Snag It, PaintShop Pro, MS Visio
• Self-starter to drive project closure and deliver on time
