Job Description

The ideal candidate has a passion for growing a planning practice that transforms local communities by investing strongly in client relationships and business development opportunities. The role can be hybrid or office-based out of the Greater Pennsylvania area and may require regular travel around Pennsylvania, Delaware, and West Virginia.

Job Responsibilities

Manage Transportation and Urban Planning projects from inception to close-out
Mentor and supervise emerging planners within the Transportation Planning department
Engage in client relationship and business development activities to drive the growth of the planning practice in Pennsylvania, Delaware, West Virginia and New Jersey
Prepare, facilitate, and lead public and stakeholder engagement programs
Prepare technical solutions, reports, and visuals to support a variety of planning project types, including: transportation, environmental, community, equity, and sustainability planning
Work collaboratively among other planning and technical disciplines, including Traffic Engineering, Municipal Planning, and Water Resources.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Environmental Science or a closely related field and six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience &/or education.
AICP certification or ability to obtain within 1 year

Preferred Qualifications

Experience planning and designing solutions for a variety of transportation projects, including transit, streetscaping, and bicycle and pedestrian planning
8 years of transportation planning (or closely related) experience
2+ years of experience with client relationship management, business development &/or project management
Experience working closely with the public and conducting public outreach
Experience in assembling and supporting the writing of grants (i.e. - Federal, IIJA, etc.)
Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation skills
