Responsibilities: | The University Learning Center (ULC) provides one-on-one tutoring to all New School students. Our Administrative Assistant is part of a fast-paced front desk team, especially during midterms and finals, that provides customer service and support to students, tutors, and a small staff.

- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting students, faculty and staff with requests (in-person, via email, online chat), including:
- Check-in and scheduling assistance
- ULC policy clarification
- Troubleshooting minor tech issues, such as connectivity/audio issues, etc.
- Direct students to the appropriate New School office(s)
- Update spreadsheets to track confidential information, including:
- Student attendance
- Scheduled appointments
- Cancellations/Missed appointments
- Open sessions
- Monitor and update Google calendar and online scheduler (WCONLINE)
- Compose emails and announcements to students, staff, and faculty
- Maintain office space – stock and clean front desk/tutoring areas, tend to plants, etc.
- Assist in designing, updating, and/or distributing flyers
- Other tasks as assigned
- Tutoring is hybrid with both online and in-person sessions.

Minimum Qualifications: | - strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- friendly demeanor and a positive attitude
- experience working with Google Drive and Microsoft Office Suite
- Federal Work Study required

Preferred Qualifications: | - prior office experience preferred
- experience working with ESL students a plus
- experience working with Adobe Suite (especially InDesign) a plus
