DESCRIPTION
The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Operational Excellence (OpEx), Principal Program Manager will be responsible for successfully planning and implementing change management at scale and speed. The OpEx Principal Program Manager of Project Integration is positioned between central team Project Management Offices and business unit field sites to manage the continuous adoption of new machinery, equipment, mechanisms, processes and adjustments to standard work, policies and procedures. They will coordinate with Process Engineering, Design Engineering, Operations Engineering, Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES), and WHS regional leaders to execute disciplined, structured, management of change, to deliver project outcomes, including full risk reduction entitlement. They will lead a comprehensive approach to deliver alignment and standardization across multiple organizations and geographies in the delivery of risk-reduction and life-safety mitigations, standard operating procedures, training, auditing and compliance to both internal and external standards. The OpEx Principal Program Manager will maintain agility and flexibility to ensure programs are put in place and adopted by Operations and WHS ensuring we are always doing what is right for the safety of our associates, contractors, and anyone coming onto our sites.

Operational Planning
Develop strong, productive relationships with senior leaders across peer organizations that further business objectives
Manage full lifecycle of complex, cross-functional programs with considerable impact across multiple organizations
Develop implementation plan, tactically driving teams inside and outside of your organization to deliver results
Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, and boundary conditions
Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)
Work with program managers, business leaders and executive team to communicate and impact business initiatives
Manage, in coordination with Finance and other partners, operational plans with teams from the wider WHS and Worldwide Operations teams
Data Driven - Oversight
Identify continuous improvement metrics and effectively engage with stakeholders to set and drive quality goals
Identify and analyze data and anecdotal input to isolate issues, identify root causes and contributing factors, test solutions and develop resolution action plans
Build and continuously improve processes to ensure oversight and compliance with regulatory requirements
Develop, implement, and govern key performance indicator reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to the milestones and performance across all projects
Communications
Develop a standard for change management communications and provide content for weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews as well as weekly safety review boards
Process/Technology Improvement
Drive change management efforts across various programs that become Amazon WHS best practices
Review, evaluate and determine the technological tools needed to automate WHS processes and standard work ensuring regulatory compliance with reporting requirements
Manage multiple parallel projects and maximize resource utilization to deliver the greatest impact for the organization
Implement systems ensuring strong follow-up management occurs on action items and inquiries from senior leaders
Lead Improvement Projects/Kaizen events to bring together cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and achieve targeted performance improvement in a compressed time-frame
Lead the coordination of integrating corporate safety initiatives and special projects
Manage complex and quick-turn integration projects while demonstrating exceptional business judgement
Role requires travel up to 25% of the time

About the team
The WHS OpEx Principal Program Manager will continuously improve the integration of risk reduction projects to the field, through comprehensive change management and communications, in order to deliver full risk reduction entitlement. They will partner with senior leaders and stakeholders across business lines to execute disciplined, structured, management of change, to deliver project outcomes, including full risk reduction entitlement. Successful candidates should have strong writing, communication, project and program management, analytical, and organizational skills, and a passion for driving operational safety excellence.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality
- PMP certificate
- Experience in ISO45001 (OHSAS18001), ISO14001, or ISO9001 certification. CSP, CRSP, CIH, NEBOSH, or CHMM certified.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $111,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
