Job Summary
Para-educator II requires more advanced knowledge, skill, and ability to work with special education environments and students who will rotate from special education to general education and including support to severely handicapped students. These positions typically have work assignments involving academic, therapeutic, behavioral, and medical dimensions.

Minimum Qualifications: Must have completed two years of college (48 units); OR obtained an associate degree (or higher); OR passed the CBEST (California Basic Skills Test) or pass an academic assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics.
This position will be assigned to work in our TK-5 grades as needed for the 2024-25 school year . NOTE: School site assignments will vary and be determined by administration depending on the needs of the District. The starting date for this position will be August 16, 2024 and is for 6 hrs./day M-F (hours to be determined by site administrator). We also offer prorated benefits (medical, dental and life).

Your offer of employment is conditional on your measured abilities to meet or exceed all of the established physical testing standards.

A pre-requisite for employment as a Para Educator II, SPED is the proof of passing a Para Educator/Instructional Aide Proficiency Test that meets NCLB now ESSA requirements.
EXCEPTIONS TO TAKING THIS TEST ARE: Possession of a current California Teacher Credential, possession of an AA degree or higher, or at least 48 units, OR CBEST (California Basic Education Skills Test).
Fingerprint and TB Clearance will be required as conditions of employment
