About the Employer
We are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. We have thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two comprehensive high schools, three specialized high schools, two alternative high schools and one K-8 school. The Antioch Unified School District is a Merit System District. As such, final selection of our classified staff members will be made from candidates who have been placed on an eligibility list. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate’s training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.
Job Summary
Basic Function: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups of limited or non-English speaking students in a classroom environment by interpreting written materials and oral lectures; serve as an interpreter for teachers or non-English speaking parents as directed; perform a variety of clerical support duties including maintaining student records and files.

CSEA SALARY RANGE Step A $23.96, Step B $25.18, Step C $26.45, Step D $27.79, Step E $29.20, Step F $30.67
Promotional/Open: The promotional group as well as the public may apply. The promotional side of the eligibility list shall take precedence when certifying eligibles.
DEADLINE TO APPLY: MONDAY, JULY 15, 2024 by 4:30 p.m.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school or equivalent; experience working with children in an educational or child care setting; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Read, write and speak proficient in both English and Spanish languages.
SELECTION & EXAMINATIONS: The selection process will consist of an application and supplemental screening for completeness and qualifications. A written exam that meets the "Every Student Succeeds Act" requirement (weighted 40%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 60%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion of the exams. The dates of the exams are to be determined. Final selection will be made from those who achieve the three highest ranking scores.
