Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, responsible for dining room service area, including, but not limited to preparing dining room for meals and/or special functions (set up and/or close), providing helpful customer service to clients, and overseeing cleanliness protocol. Performs work in accordance with Institute and regulatory agencies safety standards, and practices.
Job Duties
Works with other units and/or clients to develop dining room set up for meals and special functions; coordinates dining room set up with other staff; oversees dining room cleanup/take down and locks up according to protocol.
Provides information on operations and services available to clients, answers majority of questions regarding dining room offerings and activities. * Monitors equipment in dining room area and notifies supervisor for maintenance requests.
Has knowledge of menu and any daily specials being offered; takes customers’ orders; may prepare tableside foods and/or beverages according to order; ensures customer’s order is delivered, presented, and served according to protocol.
Maintains maximum standards of sanitation and safety.
Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of server preparation areas, stocks server preparation area with necessary items.
Provides management with observations on customer needs and feedback (i.e., preferred foods, quality of services, etc.).
Prices out customer order and provides receipt; may perform other cashiering functions (i.e., add money to card, count cash, etc.) as necessary.
May take reservations and makes seating chart assignments.
May participate in inventory and/or place orders for supplies.
May participate in opening and closing shifts (reconciling) on POS system.
Basic Qualifications
3 – 5 years of relevant work experience.
Must be able to communicate effectively in English while performing assigned duties.
Must be flexible to work a split shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Previous cash register experience
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds of tables, dishes, glassware, and food trays etc.

Must be able to follow and maintain maximum standards of ServSafe sanitation and safety to ensure the highest standards for food and beverage service.
