The Visitor Center Staff is responsible for greeting customers and provide excellent service. Conduct the hands-on daily visitor center retail and café operations. Works as part of a team to keep the visitor center and all work areas clean and presentable.
Job Responsibilities
Provide excellent and friendly customer service
Provide proper serving etiquette during and event
Demonstrate basic numeric understanding to open and close cash register, accurately count money, process a sale, collect money and provide correct change
Maintain a clean, well-organized and safe work environment
Understand first in, first out rotation to ensure freshness of products
Provide guest direction for self-guided tours
Keeps current about Hilmar Cheese Company, Hilmar Ingredients and visitor center catering, tours, cafe and retail information in order to answer customer questions
Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Preparing food and beverages with required ingredients and equipment
Hold self and others accountable to HCC’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
What You Will Need
High School diploma or equivalent
Must be able to work weekends
Food Handler Certification (within 30 days of employment)
Responsible Beverage Service Certification (within 60 days of employment)
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
What Will Put You Ahead
Prior restaurant or food service experience
Experience working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience with Point of Sale System
Experience with credit card IC Verify program
Experience with Fed Ex shipping system
