POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides direct and indirect patient care to Cardiology clinic patients and their families utilizing the nursing processes of comprehensive patient assessment, development and implementation of nursing care plans and patient education, and on-going evaluation. Delivers holistic and individualized care to all patients in practice. Develops, implements, coordinates an optimal interdisciplinary plan of care that incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and life-style factors. Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships between patients, their family/support group, physicians, and other healthcare providers through timely and effective communications. Adheres to polices, industry standards, best practices, and applicable laws/regulations and codes to promote a quality, highly reliable patient experience. Engages in continuous growth and development in professional nursing practice.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school and be a licensed State of Connecticut Registered Nurse.
Proficient in cardiac monitoring and be certified in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience with computer scheduling systems preferred, i.e. Meditech and Allscripts/Veradigm.
2 years experience working in a medical facility.

Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record.

Oversees office Coumadin clinic.
Educates patient / family regarding diagnostic procedures, medications, nutrition, and maintenance of health and wellness.
Anticipates situations and takes action to prevent or minimize a negative outcome while demonstrating the ability to organize and delegate appropraiately in an emergenc in a calm efficient manner.
Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
Appropriately delegates duties and tasks to team members, developing opportunities to promote growth of subordinates and/or peers.
May be required to perform other duties as requested by Management.
