We are seeking an exceptional Inside Sales Engineer to work with a diverse group of optical, electrical, and mechanical engineers and scientists. Engage with the broadest range of customers imaginable – every day we learn something new by helping our customers solve challenging optics and photonics problems and develop technology to improve the human condition and make the world a better and safer place.
Inside Sales Engineers are often the first to interact with a customer who has visited our website (Newport - Photonics Solutions for Extending the Frontiers of Science) or called our 800 number, making us a key technical resource to support new sales or answer questions related to a product they already own. If you have a passion for selling, learning new technology, providing best-in-class technical support and a great customer experience, we invite you to join us!
What you will do is:
- Learn our products, identify our customer’s needs, share technical product knowledge and value propositions leading to new sales opportunities.
- Provide excellent sales and technical support to screen and qualify all inbound leads.
- Consult and collaborate closely with different sales teams, assisting in preparing proposals, demonstrations, and presentations.
- Focus on solving customer issues as they deploy our products, including troubleshooting technical problems and replicating customer issues with similar hardware.
- Work closely with the engineering and product development teams to design tailored solutions that meet customer requirements. Collaborate in the creation of technical specifications and proposals.
What you will bring to the team, along with your enthusiasm is:
- A bachelor's degree related to Optics, Photonics, Physics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Success in a customer-facing role with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Proficient computer, software, and data analysis skills including Salesforce, SAP, Microsoft Office, or equivalent programs
- Experience in motion control technology and programming in Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, C++, and .NET is preferred.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, and EtherCAT protocols would be a plus.
- Excellent written and oral communication, initiative, resiliency, flexibility, attention to detail, and effective time management.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Total Compensation: Salary Range: (74,900 – 139,100) & Incentive Payment: (20,000 – 45,000). This range is a good faith estimate of the expected total compensation for this position (base salary plus variable sales compensation), based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
- Incentive Payment: A percentage of your total compensation is tied to participation in a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) and is earned by your achievement of pre-established targets, pursuant to the terms of the SIP.
