BASIC FUNCTION & DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS THIS POSITION IS OPEN COMPETITIVE AND PROMOTIONAL TO BOTH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CANDIDATES Vacancies: 1 Hours: Varies, 40 Hours/Week Months: 12 Location: Bassett Adult School Eligibility Lists: Two lists will be created from this recruitment, one internal promotional and one external (Classification Specification pending Personnel Commission Approval) BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Principal of the Adult School, develops, maintains, and builds systems to maintain and expand Career Technical Education programs in compliance with accreditation mandates, regulations, and guidelines. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: The position of Career Technical Education (CTE) Program Manager is a classified management position. The Program Specialist is certificated and works closely with teachers and counselors on program curriculum. The position of CTE Program Manager works with the Program Specialist, teachers, and counselors but not on curriculum or evaluation. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Establishes policies and procedures in compliance with accreditation agencies standards for effective and efficient operations of the post-secondary division, pertaining to student recruitment, financial aid, admissions, student services and records, and quality program offerings. Serves as a liaison for the College and Career Pathways program to provide staff support, increase enrollment opportunities and share information on program offerings. Develops and maintains federal, state, and local funding resources and manages grants. Monitors grant compliance, budget, and data collection for the CTE program. Ensures the alignment of instructional programs with current labor market needs and industry certification standards leading towards job placement of graduates. Develops, maintains, and builds business partnerships to ensure CTE program advisory committees are established and maintained
