Job Abstract

As a OT Customer Facing Network Engineer, a typical day might include the following:  

• Maintain and improve knowledge of power systems communications, (Fiber links, radio connections, IP Systems, Switches, routers, LAN/WAN networks, Servers, TCP/IP) and all related SEL products.

• Analyze customer requirements and create Technical Approach documents detailing hardware requirements and configurations with various solutions.

• Help customers apply SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telephone contact.

• Applies principles, theories, standard techniques, and concepts to provide solutions to a variety of problems.

• Contributes to product specifications, application and testing software, and literature.

• Participates in SEL marketing and sales activities, industry technical meetings, and conferences.

• Can teach SEL University courses within core area.

• Publishes application guides, notes, template guides, software tools, and/or technical conference papers.

This job might be for you if: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer / Network related area

• Typically 1+ years of experience in power systems, industry practices, and communications.

• Ability to write and speak English coherently.

• Listens carefully; provides positive, helpful, and professional communication to internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrates composure and professionalism under difficult circumstances.

• Takes on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks. Experiments to find new solutions.

• Creates a positive and motivating working environment for all.

• Hands-on experience supporting multi-vendor platforms (Cisco, SEL, etc.).

• Ability to travel (30%).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using SEL products

• Knowledge of Network security technologies and solutions, ensuring network security and integrity.

Communications = fiber optic, microwave and spread-spectrum
radio, and wired protection and control network communications systems,
including TDM and Ethernet technologies, communications test sets and
analyzers, time synchronization and distribution, and industry network design
and security practices

Associate Application Engineer $69,100 - $118,910. Application Engineer $79,400- $124,000. (etc.) Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.

Round Rock, TX

Associate Application Engineer $72,550 - $113,505. Application Engineer $83,370- $130,200. (etc.) Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
