A cover letter (or letter of application) and your CV are required and must be uploaded when you submit your application. Because they must be submitted electronically with your application, they appear below in the category of “Required Documents.” Search committee members can view your application only when it is submitted.
Your statement of teaching philosophy, statement of research interests, copy of your graduate transcript, and copies of representative publications are also required. However, they are listed below in the category of “Optional Documents” because you have the option of submitting them after submission of the application. Again, we recommend that all required elements be included in your application by October 1.
Three letters of recommendation are required. They must come directly from the recommenders. Your recommenders will be prompted by the application portal to submit their letter directly to the system.
Whether you submit other documents in support of your application (e.g., teaching evaluations, if available) is optional. Therefore, “Other Document” is included below in the category of “Optional Documents” and you are welcome to include supplemental material in your application.

About the University: Founded in 1842, Villanova University has a total enrollment of about 10,500 students of whom approximately 7000 are full-time undergraduates in one of four colleges: Liberal Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Nursing, and Business. Most of the rest are enrolled in graduate programs in one of the above four colleges or in the School of Law.
Location and Accessibility: Villanova University is located approximately 12 miles west of Philadelphia, PA, in the heart of Philadelphia’s suburban "Main Line" area. It is readily accessible by car and by public transportation. The campus is located about a quarter of a mile from the Villanova/St. Davids exit of I-476, a major component of the Philadelphia area expressway system. Villanova is connected to Philadelphia and to suburban communities to the west by a SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority) bus line and by the R5 regional rail line which has a station on campus. Another rail line, SEPTA’s Norristown High Speed Line, with two stations on campus, connects Villanova with suburban communities to the north and to the south.
