Vivarium Support Manager (Animal Sciences & Technologies)

As a Vivarium Support Manager, you will be conducting hands-on vivarium support for in vivo research and multiple laboratory animal rodent species. You will be responsible for the organization and operation of the vivarium, working independently and as part of a team. Your duties will include operating and maintaining equipment and supplies, coordinating and overseeing the receipt, inspection, and housing of incoming animals, managing animal support areas, and leading site digitization initiatives to increase efficiency and sustainability.

• High school diploma is required, Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• 3+ years experience working in an animal facility
• Previous experience working in a laboratory animal facility
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to work with infectious agents, hazardous materials, and radioactive materials
• Ability to work flexibly across different areas and participate in provision of weekend and out of hours support

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing equipment in animal vivariums and the physical plant
• Experience in using technology to improve efficiencies and data reliability
• A working knowledge in quality assurance, inventory control, supply and receiving, cage wash equipment, caging systems, types of bedding, sanitation procedures, autoclaving procedures, and material handling
• Experience modifying or improving processes and systems, depending on the needs of the facility
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and an understanding of the range of disciplines within research

The annual base salary (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $61,575 to $92,362. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
