MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES: Coordinate with the RM on the review of the Application and the renewal process Document preparation Research and review of client requests Provides support to the following related to SBA guaranteed loans: Director of Government Sponsored Banking SBA Relationship Manager(s) Portfolio Administration Follows established policies and procedures to ensure that all SBA Loan applications are processed and serviced in compliance with established SBA policies and procedures Works with Contacts client for required covenant tracking and renewal information within established guidelines Maintains the quality of credit files and completes periodic file reviews Processes and monitors new SBA loan requests for Sandy Spring Bank credit decision Works in conjunction with LSP in preparation of SBA loan application for submission to SBA Manages SBA loan closing process with assistance from SBA-RM, working closely with SSB Loan Administration and outside counsel to ensure timely and accurate loan closing and disbursement procedures complying with SBA SOP and Bank policies Oversees and reviews policies, procedures, and processes to identify areas to improve efficiencies Maintenance and Servicing Maintains distinctive level of client services that meets or exceeds both internal and external client expectations Promptly responds to client questions and requests Works in cooperation with SBA RM, Loan Administration, SBA Portfolio Managers and Business Consultants to resolve questions, complaints, and or errors Resolves problems on accounts to the satisfaction of the client and benefit to the company Portfolio Management Reporting Develops and distributes portfolio-monitoring reports to Directors, SBA Portfolio Managers, and Business Consultants, Maintains daily tracking reports to ensure proper follow through on all applications from initial request through to loan closing Demonstrates an understanding of SBA Guaranteed loan servicing and reporting requirements. Prepares monthly 1502 status report Responds to audits and collection requests Required Skills Work requires a broad level of professional experience in a related field with a minimum of 5 years work experience in commercial lending, commercial banking, retail banking, or underwriting. Position requires experience in commercial lending, with a specialized focus in SBA7(a) and SBAexpress Loans (80% focus). Ability to utilize standard PC based software to prepare correspondence, reports and other documents as needed. Strong communication skills are needed to effectively work with internal/external clients to explain products and interpret policy. Advanced problem solving skills are needed to find solutions to problems that are technically complex and require collection, interpretation, and analysis of data from diverse sources is required. Work is under minimal supervision, where the work requires independent judgment in the interpretation of existing policies and procedures and the selection of alternative work routines. SPECIFIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work requires reasonable mobility in and around the work area. Ability to use standard computer and phone systems is required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment where there is almost no discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or other disagreeable elements. Work includes little or no potential exposure to hazardous conditions. Must be able to travel to remote company and/or client locations.
