We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Systems Analyst to join our ITS team located in San Diego (Poway), CA.
With limited direction, this position acts as a liaison between one or more business system users such as business development, contracts, aftermarket sustainment, technical publications, and various program management groups, and the information systems technical staff to ensure that information technology design, data, reports, systems and processes meet the needs of the end users.
As the business activity advocate, facilitates and provides leadership for all information technology developments including but not limited to: developing product/service/report specifications to ensure end user requirements are fulfilled; and evaluating new and/or modifying/upgrading existing business processing hardware and software systems. Execute advanced level of application administration for key business systems. Participates in strategic planning for overall business system(s) development.
DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:- Act as a liaison between users of business computer systems and the information systems technical staff to: interpret needs into specifications for computer/system implementation, plan and coordinate processing schedules, develop and modify output reports, establish priorities for task completion, and define/modify/update interfaces between other internal and external computer systems.
- Act as an advocate to enhance the use of the current software/computer systems and ensure users are trained.
- Research, plan, evaluate, and coordinate new and/or modification/upgrades of existing business processing hardware and software systems.
- Coordinate the development of reports, processes, analyses, etc. to meet user requirements.
- Participate in strategic planning for overall corporate business system(s) development.
- Manage and administer one or more business systems hands-on for upgrades, patches, hot packs, user administration, script executions, etc. in support of the end users, working closely with respective vendors of the applications.
- Technical administration: Performing maintenance, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
- User management: Viewing and managing user permissions, assigning applications to users, and creating users.
- Application configuration: Adding, configuring, updating, activating, deactivating, and deleting applications.
- Reporting: Creating dashboards, reports, and metrics to support status updates.
- Define and coordinate activities between user departments and external agencies such banks, tax agencies, benefit plan administrators, vendors, subcontractors, etc.
- Provide training, guidance, and direction to less experienced staff.
- Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices. Additional Functions Other duties as assigned or required.

- Typically requires a bachelors degree in information technology or a related discipline and fifteen or more years of progressive professional experience in business systems analysis. May substitute equivalent working experience in the field in lieu of education.
- Prefer technical experience working with computerized business development, sales, inventory/warehouse management, supply chain, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, financial, accounting, aftermarket sustainment, or other business related systems.
- Must be experienced in leading and coordinating interactions between business system end-users and technical staff (infrastructure, application development, security) and have a complete operational and system understanding of business management functions such as: master data (customers, vendors, materials, pricing, etc.), opportunity management, sales order management, purchasing, inventory/warehouse control, customer invoicing, maintenance/repair/overhaul, etc.
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Dynamics 365, Ramco Aviation Suite are strong plus.
- Knowledge of aviation industry (specifically defense contracting) maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) business process and/or systems experience is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of Mendix application development platform is a strong plus.
- IT project management (implementation, installation, enhancements, support) experience and skills are a strong plus.
- Knowledge of CRM systems such as Dynamics CE is a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience in defense contracting industry with project systems, grouping/pegging/distribution (GPD) solution is a plus.
- Must have experience in developing and coordinating the development of reports from business systems and evaluating new or upgraded relevant software and hardware.
- Must be customer focused, able to look at long-term trends and emerging requirements, and understand government cost accounting.
- Must be action-oriented, takes initiatives, possesses accurate judgement for appropriate decision-making (including when to escalate), prepare and lead presentations, create business process maps and functional systems/solution architecture diagram, and manage projects through Microsoft Project (Online).
