Responsibilities
Taking a detailed case history, which may typically involve questioning patients about their condition and all aspects of their physical and emotional health and history, lifestyle and diet, and sometimes taking their blood pressure. • Explaining the diagnosis and treatment to the patient and responding to their questions and concerns. • Treating by inserting fine needles into the skin at particular locations to stimulate the energy flow along meridians (energy channels) and the body's own healing response. • Safeguards client confidentiality • Follows hygiene rules deliberately and practices clean needle technique • Assist with ensuring the proper and professional set-up of therapy room • Assessing patient progress through questioning and examination and reviewing treatment plans if necessary. • Communicates with the therapy patients, setting expectations for return-to-work and emphasizing education and motivation for compliance with the established treatment plan. • Develops knowledge of best demonstrated practices and specific quality indicators to measure and improve them. • Works in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans. The team includes mental health therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, dietitians, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, and other medical professionals

Qualifications
Diagnostic skills and methods Knowledge of acupuncture points, life energy (chi or qi) and health Acupuncture techniques and treatment (including traditional methods)
EDUCATION
Graduation from an accredited acupuncture program in the United States.
EXPERIENCE
A combination of six to twelve months of directly related training and/or experience is typically required
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Current, valid, unrestricted license to practice allopathic or osteopathic medicine in the state.
