The PRISE Center Program Manager (PM) will be accountable for the overall project management, administration, operational, and fiscal management of one or more multi-year PRISE Center training and/or implementation science research awards from diverse federal, state, local, and/or philanthropic funders. The PM will also support Center-wide communications, knowledge management, grant writing, planning and executing meetings and events, and special initiatives to strengthen the overall operations and workflow for PRISE Center faculty, staff, trainees, and affiliates. The PM will directly report to the PRISE Center Senior Program Manager but will also receive guidance from PRISE Center Co-Directors and PIs whose grants they manage. The PM will also collaborate closely with PRISE Center faculty, staff, trainees, and internal and external Center partners.
The PM will be responsible for program management, administration, operations and reporting on two multi-year PRISE Center grants, including the PRISE-HL T32 postdoctoral training award from NIH-NHLBI and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Implementation Science (ImS) Training award. The PM may also manage other PRISE Center grants, as assigned. In close collaboration with project PIs and in alignment with sponsored project goals and contract scope of work, the PM provides project management support to implement project activities and deliver results on-time and on budget. The PM tracks and manages program activity timelines, manages sponsored project budgets in collaboration with PI and assigned research service administrator, and executes and manages sub-awards, consultant agreements and payments to community members, students and postdoctoral scholars supporting with grant activities. The PM also schedules and facilitates routine project team meetings, supports effective communication internally and with donors and partners, manages grant reporting, and team knowledge management.
The PM will also provide communications, operations and administrative support to core PRISE Center strategic initiatives and functions. The PM will provide support to plan, execute and evaluate online, in-person and hybrid PRISE Center meetings, workshops and events. The PM will organize workshops and events, generate agendas, assist in inviting speakers, schedule, arrange and manage the conduct of the event including handling necessary conference room reservations, audiovisual arrangements, food/drink requirements, support to develop conference materials (PPTs, sign-in sheets, guidelines for grant reviews, etc), and develop and implement post-event evaluations and make event improvements based on evaluation findings.
In collaboration with the PRISE Center Senior Program Manager, the PM will play a lead role in organizing, managing and executing the PRISE Center communications plan. The PM will edit and keep current the PRISE Center website, and develop and disseminate a quarterly newsletter. The PM will manage and keep current Center listserves, including the Core Faculty, staff, trainee, affiliate and newsletter listserves stored within Constant Contact. The PM will share Center updates on social media and will seek ways to increase visibility for the PRISE Center via print, internet and social media.
The PM will provide administrative and coordination support on select PRISE Center grant applications, tracking of grants and events for annual reports, knowledge management for PRISE faculty, staff and trainees, and provide scheduling, facilitation and documentation support for routine PRISE Center leadership and governance meetings. The PM will also lead special projects that may include developing policies and procedures on PRISE Center workflows to provide payments to collaborators and community partners, or researching, proposing processes for and implementing online workshop to meet the needs of key partners, such as public health practitioners and community partners.
The PM maintains a high standard of organization, attention to detail, communication, knowledge of UCSF systems, and ensures optimal systems are in place to support development of high-quality deliverables and ensure strong relationships with grant and Center funders and partners. This is key position that is a part of the PRISE Center leadership team and will contribute to the PRISE Center’s growth and long-term success. We are seeking a public health professional passionate about participatory implementation research, health equity and building strong partnerships with donors and multi-sectoral partners.

NOTE: This is a Contract, Hybrid role for one year from date of hire.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $84,400 - $133,800 (Annual Rate).

Terminal degree in a related field (PhD, JD, MD, etc.).
Minimum 2 years of experience coordinating multi-year grants.
Minimum 3 years of experience working effectively in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
Budget management experience on budgets of $700,000 or greater.
Thorough knowledge of UCSF administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.
Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field and three or more years of relevant experience and/or equivalent experience/training required.
Academic background and experience in academic medicine, public health, social services, public policy or related field.
Enthusiasm about partnered implementation science research that furthers health equity
Strong project management skills to manage the administrative and programmatic operations of implementation research and/or training awards.
Ability to develop project workplans and motivate team members to meet deadlines and/or donor and partner expectations.
Grants and contracts management experience
Strong ability to deal with a wide variety of federal, state, local government, and institutional requirements, as well as a broad range of professionals, academics, and community partners.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong ability to think creatively and independently on concepts requiring advanced analytical skills.
Knowledge and ability to understand and apply UCSF policies and procedures
Strong experience using communication software (e.g. Constant Contact, designing and disseminating newsletters, and management/organizational platforms.
