The Security Processor will assist the assigned Government Division Chief and assigned team leader with various security administration duties to ensure the protection of classified national security information and Sensitive but Unclassified information within Department of State facilities worldwide.
RELATIONSHIPS:
The Security Processor will receive direct government oversight, assignments, and directions from the assigned Government Office/ Program Director or Division Chief, through an assigned team leader.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides support to the Department of State's programs established to protect classified national security information at all classification levels and in accordance with applied handling caveats within the Department and that which may be entrusted to private industry.
- Provides administrative support for the Division Chief for general administration, department reports, rosters, action tracking, and special projects.
- Interfaces with various levels of personnel in the Division on office policies, personnel matters, and procedures related to the day-to-day operations of the Division.
- Drafts correspondence and develops and maintains databases for statistical analysis.
- Prepares periodic or special reports of workload and information from files to assist Division Chief and other security personnel within the Division.
- Prepares office files using various office platforms such as IMS, ServiceNow, etc. throughout the year and conducts annual reports.
- Works with Division security specialists to scan paper case files and enter relevant information onto and into various office data base platforms.
- Inputs and verifies accuracy of data from a wide variety of source documents such as security incident records and other narrative and statistical information and assists administratively in the processing of security incidents.
- Orders and maintains office supplies, office equipment, and property equipment inventories as assigned by the Division, placing calls for equipment repair requests and physical plant problems.
- Rapidly responds to and resolves any administrative problems and maintains office records.
- Participates in U.S. Marine security guard exercises to investigate proper safeguarding of classified information within the workplace.
- Clearly and effectively communicates within the Directorate.
- Works under direct supervision in the day-to-day performance of assigned program security support tasks and actions.
- Conducts assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with agency policies and applicable security regulations.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:
- Citizenship - U.S. Citizenship required.
- Education - High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience - One (1) year of specialized administrative experience in the following areas: ? Office management, suspense tracking, review of executive level correspondence, database administration, financial and project status tracking and reporting, monthly reporting, and maintenance of operating procedures ? Each year of college can be substituted for one year of experience. Preferred: Department of State experience.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow database guidelines.
- Experience providing general administrative support to an office and maintaining various administrative reports.
- Experience using database software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
Position will be subject to a U.S. Government Security Investigation. Incumbent shall possess SECRET security clearance at a minimum. Interim clearances may be accepted by the COR with Government Program Manager’s approval.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:
As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
