Job Abstract

Under supervision, assists with the purchasing of a variety of supplies, materials, and equipment parts; maintains parts room, picks up and delivers parts. Maintains adequate inventory. Exercises no supervision.

Examples of duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Orders and receives equipment parts, accessories, supplies and special tools used in the maintenance, service and repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment;
• Researches parts and supply catalogues and contacts vendors to obtain information on product availability and prices;
• Counts and inspects equipment materials to ensure accurate quantity and quality;
• Receives and reviews requisitions for accuracy; allocates parts and supplies to proper budget account;
• Ensures adequate inventories;
• Maintains records of invoices and purchases;
• Disposes of hazardous materials properly and safely and maintains appropriate records and documentation;
• Maintains store room in a clean, safe, and orderly condition;
• Prepares complete and accurate forms, documents, and reports;
• Performs computer input for inventory records, data storage and retrieval; checks computer system for vendor compliance; and
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Experience:

• Two years of experience in automotive, construction, or related equipment parts supply.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Possession and maintenance of a valid appropriate California driver's license at time of appointment.

• Ability to work in an indoor office, warehouse, and mechanic shop environment; exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noises;
• Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, crouch climb, and stoop.
• Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 pounds,
• Ability to travel to different sites and locations.
