About the Role:
The surgical Instrument assistant supports the functions of the surgery department by overseeing the care, maintenance, and availability of surgical instruments and operating rooms. No prior experience is necessary- we can teach you!
- ·Work with our Board Certified Surgeons to understand their instruments needs for each procedure.
- Learn surgical instrument and equipment maintenance and storage needs.
- Keep Instruments organized and ready for use.
- Setup our 3 OR’s with appropriate instrument packs, monitoring equipment, anesthesia machine, intravenous fluids, and more as directed.
- Clean our 3 OR’s after each surgical procedure.
- Clean Instruments, wrap Instrument packs, & sterilize Instruments and Instrument packs.
- Prepare cages for post-op patients
- Clean cages/kennels as needed
- Perform surgical laundry
- Assist technicians as needed
- Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, as well as ability to lift up to 25kg on own and able to support up to 50 kg with assistance.

Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The pay range for this position is $17.50 to $21 per hour
