OVERVIEW : Primarily responsible for daily preventive maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of the vehicles assigned as well as providing onsite emergency assistance as required when issues arise in the field. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS : Performs basic Pre-Trips on all various rolling stock. Performs all necessary paperwork associated with the assigned job, i.e. (work orders, charge parts out). Drives various equipment safely on the lot or into the garage work area. Adjust brakes and clutches to FMCSA standards. Performs all Category C tasks. Changes/replace clutches, pm all various equipment, make or repair Hydraulics or hoses. Performs work assignments with minimum direction from the supervisor. Performs basic welding functions along with being able to change out a variety of components related to equipment. All other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS : Must be at least 18 years old. Must have valid driver's license (MVR check is condition of employment). 2 years Garage/ Diesel Mechanic experience preferred. ASC Certification (preferred). Diesel Certification (preferred). Ability to work with Insite software. In-depth knowledge of Fleet Maintenance Operations or transferable skill sets from similar industries. Ability to provide own tools. Follow Department of Transportation, State and Federal laws, and company safety policies and programs. Must be able to follow workplace safety rules, including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout Tagout procedures, and process safety management-related matters. Willing and capable of working overtime as required. Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality. Excellent Communication Skills.
