Instructor should have choreography skills and be able to work with younger children. Reports to: PROGRAM Director, CS 300 Location: 2050 Prospect Avenue, Bronx New York 10457 Hours: 18 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt Schedule: Early July - Mid August Salary: $19/hr - $25/hr Major Duties: Provide and teach well planned dance classes to participants. Articulate expectations to group leaders and program aides on what aspect of the classwork needs to be strengthened and practiced in preparation for the next class (where applicable). Responsible for the setup, operation and clean-up of activities and the organization, inventory and storing of relevant supplies and equipment. Attend all staff meetings and staff development training sessions, as specified. Guide program participants in examining choices, following directions and becoming involved in program activities. Perform other duties as assigned. Must think out of box and into Space. Qualifications: High School Diploma Min. BA preferred. Professional experience in teaching dance required. Must be able to engage young people and set structure and limits in a group setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
