SUMMARY: National Capital Treatment & Recovery, formerly Phoenix House, a nonprofit substance use treatment facility in Arlington, VA is hiring a Residential Manager to help oversee the operation of the Adult Women's Residential Program. This is a full-time, M-F 9am-6pm, salaried position with full benefits.
This position is responsible for the management of the residential/transitional treatment track, therapeutic milieu through supervision of the Residential Supervisors, Residential Staff and Residential Community Structure. Position responsible for maintaining facility as a drug free environment. Oversees Residential Life Trainings and recreational components of the program. Position assures that program functions according to NCTR's procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees the residential operations of Women’s Residential Treatment Program
- Implement program as developed, reporting to Clinical Director concerning any difficulties or changes needed in program implementation.
- Develop linkages with community based organizations that can provide services to clients including employment and documentation assistance, HIV/AIDS education and services, literacy and ESL assistance and other services.
- Establish links to additional self-help groups in the community
- Establish relationships with Oxford House in the community
- Ensure linkage with County and private service providers is accomplished
- Provide overall administration and management of the program operation
- Input client data into databases, including Welligent, GPRA, CSAT reports
- Maintain ethical standards and continued professional growth, including
- Abide by Program and NCTR policy and procedures.
- Oversee staff understanding and compliance
- Ensure all CARF standards are instituted and maintained
- Continues professional growth by attending workshops, trainings and staff in-service trainings to increase skill and knowledge and to set appropriate example for staff
- Maintain current licensure/certification including CES, CPR, First Aid, and Medication Management
- Maintain professional boundaries with staff and clients
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC)
- Minimum of five years experience as an addiction counselor, two of which must be in a supervisory capacity
- Master’s Degree Preferred, Bachelor’s Degree required in Human Services or Addiction Counseling
- Fluent in Spanish, desired but not mandatory
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Prior management experience essential; demonstrated ability to perform under pressure
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Experience working with diverse population
- Experience working in hospital or medical settings
- Experience working with commercial insurance carriers
- Ability to prepare and maintain required documentation
- Ability to comply with state and federal regulations regarding confidentiality
- Knowledge of Virginia licensure requirements and Human Rights regulation
- Knowledge of the 12 Core Counseling Functions and AA/NA principles
- Knowledge of therapeutic milieu and experience working with large residential community
