The Senior EKG Technician works closely with the stress labs exercise physiologist and nurse practitioner of the EKG and Stress Testing Lab to provide care and services as directed. The senior EKG technician assures that office functions are maintained, all records are completed appropriately and equipment and supplies are ordered and received. Other responsibilities include performing EKG recordings, processing EKGs for the physician reading panel, and performing Holter monitor hook-ups. The senior EKG technician is responsible for training all existing and new staff that performs EKG and/or Stress Lab services and coordinates with administrative supervisor to assure proper coverage for EKG services. Edits, processes, archives and educates staff with adult and pediatric 12/15 lead ECGs utilizing the MUSE archive System.

Education equivalent to an AA degree
Experience using computer EKG Management and Electronic Medical Record systems
High school diploma
Certification and completion of an Electrocardiogram Technician Training (CVT) program or equivalent
Three to five years of experience as an EKG technician
