Application Developer
The Application Developer will manage the transition from Jira workflow implementation to a proper workflow engine. Working with the team, the application developer will create a modern interface and database structure to manage and communicate the finance and procurement process for an office. This will require experience developing database functionality delivered as a web UI.
In delivering this new application, the role will assist in documenting requirements and resolving issues with product. After delivery this role is planned to acquire skills to join one of the High Performance Computing (HPC) teams for career advancement in the program’s delivery of infrastructure and support for AI, ML and HPC capabilities.
What you will be doing
The Application Developer will develop a replacement procurement workflow system solution to be used by an office that is budgeting and procuring infrastructure support AI, ML and HPC activities. The position will manage the current Jira implementation while developing requirement for the new system to be built on standard database and with modern web based user interfaces. The new system will need to replicate functionality and create new features that generate reports to be used for decision making. This capability is a key capability for the office.
As that project moves to maintenance, the role will have the opportunity to take on responsibilities working with and delivering the AI, ML and Scientific Computing fabric as part of the program’s larger mission.
What you need
- Experience developing and delivering web user interfaces
- Experience developing and delivering database functionality (Oracle, Postgres, MariaDB, etc.)
- An understanding of Jira
- Agile development exposure
- Troubleshooting and implementing solutions related to technical network issue.
- Familiarity with industry standard tools
- An eagerness to learn and collaborate
- Is comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Linux experience is required
- A degree in a related field and/or commensurate experience in developing and delivering software. Experience of 3-5 years experience with a relevant degree.
Clearance
Active TS/SCI with an appropriate polygraph is required to be considered for this role
