Job Summary 

CARE Mobile (Community Access to Resources and Engagement) is a 100% mobile program based on a public-private partnership model which provides roving on-site outdoor health and wellness programming, engaging community activities, and entertainment for older adults and adults with disabilities.

The Program Assistant drives the CARE Mobile vehicle and assists with setup and breakdown of events, supporting participants with activities, administering/tracking surveys, preparing activities, preparing flyers, distributing event flyers, loading/unloading the vehicle, purchasing items for events, and helping the Program Manager with other duties to support events and outreach.

Part-time 20 hours/week. Events mostly occur M-F during daytime hours, but support during evening weekends will occur.

Primary Duties

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. These duties and responsibilities will be rated on the Annual Performance Review. 

• Assists with driving, setup, and breakdown of CARE Mobile activities, including loading and unloading program vehicle(s)
• Assists with administering/tracking/recording on-site surveys.
• Assists with preparing for events/activities, including purchasing of supplies, outreach, distributing flyers, creating flyers.
• Engages and supports participants during activities.
• Completes vehicle safety checks, required documentation, and assists with vehicle maintenance.

Additional Responsibilities

• May support coverage for AM/PM transportation routes on occasion.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Certification(s)

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation to perform work-related travel required. Eligible drivers must have a good motor vehicle record (MVR) and be eligible for coverage with ServiceSource insurance carrier.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to become familiar with ServiceSource specific programs and software.???  
• Strong verbal communication skills. ?

• Detail-oriented and able to carry out work with the highest levels of accuracy. 
• Ability to adapt to frequent schedule changes and problem solve.
• Creative thinking skills to adapt and implement activities to meet participants’ skill level.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee along with the help of other staff might have to move, load, and unload supplies, tables, chairs, portable generators, tents, and other objects up to 75 lbs.

The employee may often or occasionally lift or move durable medical equipment, supplies, or groceries up to 50 pounds. The employee may often or occasionally aid participants with balance (i.e., provide an arm to keep steady) and aid with transferring to and from a wheelchair and/or vehicle. The employee may often or occasionally be required to support participants of any weight who use a wheelchair and need to maneuver the wheelchair in tight quarters and up/down ramps. The ability to walk up and down flights of steps is required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment 

Most work is conducted in an outdoor setting. Incumbent may be exposed to adverse weather such as cold and hot temperatures, rain, sleet, snow, and/or ice. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet or moderate; however, loud noise may be encountered on occasion. Job duties may be required to be performed during inclement weather.
