THE COLLEGE AND THE DISTRICT:
Mt. San Jacinto Community College enrolls approximately 27,000 students each academic year and has a highly diverse student population that reflects the communities it serves. Designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), Mt. ABOUT OUR TEMPORARY WORKFORCE PROGRAM
Mt. San Jacinto Community College District accepts applications for our Temporary Workforce Program (TWP) on a continuous basis for a variety of temporary positions. Applications are kept on file for six (6) months from the date the District verifies the applicant's qualifications. Should a position become available, various deans and/or department chairs will have access to view these applications and contact those they are interested in interviewing. To ensure an applicant meets the minimum qualifications for a specific position, additional screening from Human Resources may be required for verification purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree in teaching English as a second language, or teaching English to speakers of other languages; OR
- A Bachelor's degree in education, English, linguistics, applied linguistics, any foreign language, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, or speech; AND
- A certificate in teaching English as a second language {which may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor}; OR
- A Bachelor's degree with any of the majors specified above - education, English, linguistics, applied linguistics, any foreign language, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, or speech; AND
- One (1) year of professional experience teaching English as a second language in an accredited institution; AND
- A certificate in teaching English as a second language {which may be completed concurrently during the first two (2) years of employment as a noncredit instructor}; OR
- Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in English as a second language

ACADEMIC EQUIVALENCY
Minimum qualifications for Faculty and Administrators for California Community Colleges are established by the Chancellor's Office. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications to teach in a desired discipline but feel that they possess the equivalent of qualifications, may attach an Application for Equivalence. Applicants who claim equivalent qualifications shall provide conclusive evidence that they possess qualifications that are at least equivalent to those required by the minimum qualifications. The conclusive evidence must be as clear and reliable as college transcripts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The conditions herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential job functions.
Environment: Work is generally performed in an indoor classroom that may also include working in a lab setting.
Physical: Primary function requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a classroom and or lab setting and may travel from site to site; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist; to lift carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds or more, carrying supplies, equipment; to operate classroom equipment requiring repetitive hand movements and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents; and to operate assigned equipment.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

THE COMMUNITY
The area provides a diverse geography that includes recreational lakes, mountains, desert and wide-open spaces. MSJC is located about 100 miles southeast of Los Angeles and 50 miles west of Palm Springs. There is freeway access to ocean beaches, skiing and cultural offerings in San Diego, Los Angeles and Orange County. Weekend recreational opportunities are a few hours away in Las Vegas, Arizona and nearby mountain resorts. Local theater productions and art galleries provide year-round entertainment, including the famous Ramona Festival and Pageant.
