Collins Aerospace is seeking a skilled Senior Manager Reliability & Safety, to join our Engineering Specialty Services Team and leading the Reliability and Safety (R&S) Team located in Chula Vista, California. You will be responsible for ensuring safety compliance through systematic application of Reliability, System Safety, Lightning Safety, and Fire Safety principles to all products under Collins Aerospace, Advanced Structures – Aerostructures portfolio. In addition, you contribute to defining the safety compliance on the next generation of nacelle products.

What You Will Do
- Perform engineering management tasks to include workload management, resources planning, performance management, compensation, and career development for direct reports.
- Perform as an individual contributor in one of the following subject matters: (1) Reliability; (2) System Safety; (3) Fire Safety; and (4) Lightning Safety.
- Serve as the Reliability and Safety quorum member to the Aerostructures Product Safety Integrity Team.
- Champion the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, including documentation of current processes and revision of standard works.
- Develop and execute a strategy to fulfill the anticipated needs for future programs.
- Manage the CORE maturity plan for key processes within R&S team and continue to foster continuous improvement and development.
- Communicate and present to senior level leadership
- Travel up to10% domestically and internationally to support operational needs and collaboration efforts when circumstances permit.
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications You Must Have
- Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and typically a minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position
- Experience in executing commercial and/or military aviation Reliability, System Safety, Fire Safety, and/or Lightning Safety certification programs.
- Experience in leading and/or collaborating small engineering teams with multidisciplinary backgrounds.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Holds CORE or equivalent certification, demonstrating advanced proficiency in fostering process maturity and adept use of root cause corrective action methodologies and tools.
- Adeptness in both managerial oversight and hands-on involvement in all R&S areas.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Proficient in Reliability and System Safety techniques such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), System Safety Assessment (SSA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) in support of ARP4754 and ARP4761, relating to Nacelle applications.
- Proficient in Lightning Safety principles and procedures such as ARP 5412, ARP 5414, APR 5416, relating to Nacelle applications.
- Proficient in Fire Safety principles and procedures, relating to Nacelle applications.
- Proficient in Risk Assessment techniques such as Continued Airworthiness Assessment Methodology (CAAM).

The salary range for this role is 130,000 USD - 272,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
