Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Head Enterprise Architect - Applications to join our team. This individual will be responsible for the overall application architecture strategy, design, and implementation within the enterprise. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of enterprise application architecture, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Development:
- Develop and maintain the enterprise application architecture strategy and roadmap.
- Align application architecture with the organization’s business goals and IT strategy.
- Assess and recommend new technologies to enhance application architecture and business capabilities.
Architecture Design and Implementation:
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable application solutions.
- Ensure all applications adhere to enterprise architecture standards and best practices.
- Oversee the integration of new applications into the existing enterprise architecture.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor a team of architects and developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Work closely with other IT leaders, business stakeholders, and external partners to ensure successful delivery of application projects.
- Provide expert guidance and advice on application architecture to other teams within the organization.
Governance and Compliance:
- Establish and enforce application architecture policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Ensure all application solutions comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Conduct regular architecture reviews and audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in application architecture, including performance tuning, optimization, and modernization efforts.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to keep the organization at the forefront of application architecture.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a senior Enterprise architecture role.
- Proven experience leading enterprise application architecture projects in large, complex environments.
- Experience working within the financial services industry within a Global investment management organization
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of application architecture principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with a variety of application development technologies and frameworks (e.g., Java, .NET, JavaScript, microservices, cloud-native architectures).
- Proficiency in multi-cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their application services.
- Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and technologies (e.g., APIs, messaging, event driven architecture, etc. ).
Leadership and Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide teams and develop global teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- TOGAF 9 Enterprise Architecture Practitioner certification.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
- Knowledge of data architecture and governance.
