JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. We develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training environments, and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
The incumbent, under close supervision of a technical lead or unit supervisor, performs a variety of basic or routine tasks during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems.
- Supports production of technical documents and drawings.
- Researches technical issues for input to reports and studies.
- Supports fabrication and testing of hardware and software systems.
- Assists in design, coding, and documentation of software products.
- Maintains filing systems, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory.
- Assists work unit personnel as the on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed.
- Complies with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications, and test procedures.
- Uses established policies and procedures and limited subject matter knowledge to complete relatively simple assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence.
- Performs related work as required.
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION
This is an entry level position. The candidate would benefit from having an understanding of Telemetry systems and understand signal flow of a given system. The job duties include, but are not limited to Operations and maintenance support of telemetry tracking systems, data transport, and network systems under general technical guidance. Real-time mission support duties include establishing end-to-end connectivity with pre-mission checks for voice, video, and data--monitor real-time missions utilizing test equipment such spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, receiver analyzers, and Bit Error Rate (BER) testers. Installing and terminating cabling for RF, network, and fiber optic systems. The candidate may be required to work overtime, including weekends and different shifts, to accommodate dynamic mission support objectives. Will perform preventative maintenance on all equipment per established procedures Local Work Cards (LWC), operating procedures, tech manuals, and other official documentation. Create local trouble tickets and use Maximo database to document work performed as required by procedures. Regular interfacing and communicating with the customers through email, phone, virtual and face-to-face meetings. The job requirements dictate climbing communications towers and working on elevated work platforms. The applicant must have a valid driver's license and must obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to the Secret level.- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
- Experience in tower climbing and elevated work Platforms (boom and scissor Lifts).
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Hands-on experience performing tasks related to the work unit is desired. The incumbent must have good communication and analytical skills and basic working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. The incumbent must exhibit basic planning/organizing skills and must be able to take direction from senior unit personnel and work under deadlines. The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $43,000 to $45,760 annually.Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. WORKING CONDITIONS
Most positions involve work typical of office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. Frequent travel to remote Company work locations may be required.
