Summary
The MIL Corporation seeks a Proposal Management, Senior Associate to support our team. The Proposal Management, Senior Associate will report to the Vice President of Proposals & Marketing. The successful candidate will support the proposal and sales teams in business development related pursuits and will be responsible for providing the full array of proposal support. The Proposal Management, Senior Associate will oversee all proposal activities, including managing proposal schedules and deadlines, developing proposal outlines and compliance matrix, drafting proposal responses, and tracking the progress of the proposal.
This position currently requires a hybrid schedule in the Washington, DC area.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and review of proposal strategies and themes and manage the development of a Proposal Management Plan (PMP).
- Handle the creation and review of a proposal outline and templates that will be used as a key document design and control medium.
- Assist in analyzing the RFP/bid requirements against the proposal outline to ensure both compliance and responsiveness to the customer’s issues and needs.
- Build the proposal compliance matrix and track the fulfillment of all requirements.
- Review completed storyboards and proposal sections to ensure requirements are adequately addressed.
- Conduct regular proposal progress status meetings and maintain the proposal schedule.
- Draft compliant and persuasive proposal sections in coordination with subject matter experts.
- Participate in proposal production to include formatting (and printing, book assembly, and delivery when required).
- Update and maintain proposal boilerplate library.
- Conduct daily analysis of several federal government procurement sites to identify and qualify new opportunities. Distribute possible opportunities to the VPs and track responses.
- Respond to research requests to assist in quantifying new leads and provide additional sales support.
- Conduct research, analysis, and delivery of high-quality and timely responses to internal customer inquiries regarding opportunities and initiatives.
- Update and track progress on previously identified federal business opportunities.
- Other reasonable and normal duties associated with the Proposal Management, Senior Associate position, as directed
Travel
We strive to manage our workload and do maintain a good work/life balance. Circumstances occasionally require travel, late nights or weekend work; however this is the rarity, and not the norm. Some travel may be required to facilitate in-person meetings at MIL office locations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience
- In-depth understanding of federal government contracting, business development, and proposal development
- Demonstrated research and analysis skills
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Highly motivated with the ability to take initiative and provide suggestions for improvement
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to promote best practices
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing schedules in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- Detail oriented and able to produce high-quality accurate work in a timely manner
- High level of proficiency with the following software:
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

Education
Bachelor's degree in English, Business Administration, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $100,000 - $150,000 year.
