SENIOR ACCOUNT CLERK
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Manager of Accounting or other administrator, perform complex accounting clerical work of moderate difficulty in keeping or reviewing the District's financial and statistical records; maintain accounts within a major accounting functional area.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
Incumbents in this classification perform moderately complex accounting work in the exercise of control over a specified number of accounts. Duties involve verification and maintenance of more complex financial records and preparation of periodic summary reports. Assignments are carried out using initiative, independent judgment and a minimum of supervision.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Perform specialized accounting of major functional activities, such as tracking equipment assets, maintaining ledgers, or maintaining food services warehouse stock; prepare reports as needed. E
Coordinate and compile annual and interim physical inventory counts; review and monitor the completeness and accuracy of on_hand descriptions, quantities and valuations. E
Audit and process for payment billings related to the District's utility expenses; maintain records of utility costs and usage as assigned. E
Review and make corrections to accounting records; monitor and record expenditure adjustments and transfer of funds. E
Perform assigned accounts payable general ledger, or lunch program application processing tasks. E
Maintain related files and records; input and verify data into computer terminal. E
Maintain contact with District and other personnel and respond to questions regarding financial accounting procedures and transactions. E
Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school including or supplemented by a course in bookkeeping or accounting and three years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience.
