Position Overview:
The Salvation Army of Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware is seeking a part-time Grants and Communications Intern. This is an opportunity to interact with a growing Development team responsible for direct marketing, major gifts, foundation relations, planned giving, and marketing/communications.
Responsibilities

The Intern will work directly with the Development Communications Manager and the Divisional Grants Manager. Responsibilities include:
Supporting the Community Relations and Development team with donor correspondence, including collecting assets to enhance stewardship reports.
Proofreading and editing grant proposals and reports; preparing acknowledgement letters for grant awards.
Drafting copy for direct and public-facing donor communication.
Working with other development department staff, Salvation Army Officers, and program staff as needed to complete stewardship projects.
The above list of job duties is not exclusive or exhaustive and the candidate will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of the post.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Coursework at college or university level in Communications, English, or another comparable discipline.
Demonstrated track record of strong writing, communications and proof-reading skills.
Ability to work independently and to take initiative.
Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Must have an understanding of, appreciation for, and support the Mission of The Salvation Army.
